>>> Introduction

Women’s volleyball in the USA is completely different from the club system that we find in Europe. The best American players, but also average/low level players, all go to universities and compete in the NCAA league. They all have an amateur status.

Women’s volleyball is played at a high-level and is one of the most popular sport for the public, right after American Football, Baseball and Basketball.

--- Who can obtain an athletic scholarship ? ---

Thanks to our large contacts with universities and VB teams, we are able to offer volleyball players (girls) of all kinds of levels FULL SCHOLARSHIPS (100%).

  • Volleyball players (girls) of national and club level.
  • High-School students (last year of H-S, 12th grade) and university students
  • There is no age limit

--- The Season / Calendar ---

The NCAA season occurs between August and December. The frequency of the games is very high. Teams play on average 30 games in 4 months.

  • July and beginning of August: practice
  • August-December: NCAA league (1 game every 3 or 4 days)
  • January-May: recovery period (rest) and practice

---The Staff ---

In most US universities, the team’s staff is composed of:

  • The “Head Coach”
  • 2 assistant-coaches
  • 1 fitness coach
  • 1 trainer (physical therapist)
  • 1 doctor

--- Practices ---

Usually, practices occur in the afternoons. Their length and intensity depend on the team level and the Head Coaches routine. On average, teams practice 3 hours a day; composed of individual workouts, tactics, game situations and fitness.

--- Road Trips ---

Teams travel by private bus or by plane, depending upon the distance. Generally, they travel the day before the competition and stay in high-quality hotels. While traveling, all expenses (hotel and food) are paid by the university, in addition to the existing scholarship.

Sydney Olympic Champion - Serbia & Montenegro Volleyball National Team

"As a lot of other athletes I often thought about what should be my priority: school or sport. My parents talked about injuries, the fact that only a small number of athletes earn enough money to guarantee their future, and that you should always favor school.

Today, thanks to the NCAA championships, it is possible to do both. Many members of the US national team have graduated from college while competing at a high athletic level. That’s why I truly support and recommend L-Z Sport."

Libero of the volleyball French National Team

"Athletes in the US have the chance to discover new experiences, to practice well, and study at the same time. I support L-Z Sport’s idea to allow all that for volleyball players, especially girls, because they are the most favored by athletic scholarships."

Head Coach of the Serbia & Montenegro National Team

"Becoming fluent in english, graduating from a university and practicing with quality, without always wondering about “should I choose school or sports”, is a unique opportunity. Most of L-Z Sport’s team are ex high-level athletes who lived the “American student athlete experience”. I support their project because they offer kids the opportunity to improve athletically while graduating from a university."

California Baptist

"My name is Romain Vetter, I’m 20 years old and I come from Geneva (Switzerland). Before leaving for the US (Riverside, California), I was playing volleyball in Ch?nois, Switzerland. L-Z Sport got me a good scholarship and allowed me to discover the american system. My scholarship gives me many advantages: appartment, food, school tuition, sport equipments. I have had good contacts with my classmates and teammates. My team is very competitive, last year we won the NAIA championship(div 1). Apart from the american players, there are two players from Ghana, one brazilian and myself. Our schedule includes games against reknown NCAA teams such as: UCLA, Long Beach State, USC, Santa Barbara, Chicago, etc…The american system gives me what I cannot get anywhere else. Excellent sports facilities and an outstanding academic program. Here it feels like a family, everyone help each other and play for the same team. I advise all interested athletes to try the experience. It is unique! It was my dream to come play here, maybe it’s yours too? I am reachable by email for any athletic and academic questions regarding my university.

So, have fun and see you in California! Go Lancers !"

University of Illinois, Chicago

"The L-Z Sport agency works very professionally. I am quite satisfied and thankful for everything they’ve done for me. They got me a full scholarship including tuition, books, food and an apartment. Moreover, I am satisfied with the administrative job they did concerning my admission into the university and to obtain my student visa ! "
